Our Top Picks

The weird, the wonderful and the designer. Here’s a few of our top picks from our latest drop! From conversation starters to true relics we’ve got you covered.

1) Swedish Brutalist Chair

This chair is a beautifully made classic folk piece - however, it’s recent history is quite colourful and unexpected. Sourced at Henley Decor Fair, we got talking to a very special dealer. The prop master for the 2022 film ‘Prizefighter’. We have it on the highest authority (seen with her own eyes haha!) that Russel Crowe has in fact popped his bottom on this fantastically made beautiful chair. What better conversational piece!

2) Willy Guhl Diablo Planter

This is a classic design piece. If mid century Brutalist design is your thing, you can’t go wrong with Swiss designer Willy Guhl. I can’t begin to tell you how excited I was when I spotted this beautiful planter and (not successfully) tried my best to play it cool! Working both indoors and outdoors, this piece is sculptural, surprisingly light weight (due to being made from fibre-cement), and a real statement. What’s not to love?

3) Bronze Chain Sculpture

One of the more interesting and historical pieces we’ve sourced is this minesweeper stud link chain. Incredibly heavy, made from solid bronze and beautifully polished, these chains were salvaged from the HMS Bronington. The King’s ship, these chains had a previous life as part of a minesweeper chain. The bronze is non-magnetic (a must for this type of job!) Now, these chains are a fantastic sculptural and decorative item.

4) Antique Romanian Bowls

These two antique Romanian marble glazed bowls are incredibly tactile, feeling like two buried relics only recently seeing the light of day. They’re handmade, beautifully glazed, all round getting some huge ticks from us! I think these would look superb on a coffee table, or kitchen shelves.
